Tonight.....

is date night. Tomorrow night...... is date night, too! Kevin and I are going to our friend's rehearsal dinner and tomorrow attending their wedding. I'm SO excited for our "adult" weekend, I can hardly wait! No sassies in my pocket, no teddy grahams or pizza flavored goldfish crumbling in my diaper bag....heck, there won't even be a diaper bag! I'm stepping into my heels and grabbing my little black clutch (that only has room for some lip gloss and my I.D.)....cause this is how I roll, people! Tonight, I will wear a cute little dress, that has been dying to be worn for quiet some time......my toes will be done and my eyes "smokey". I will be the epitome of HOT!!!! My husband will look at me and say, "D A M N"!
There will be no blueberries stuck to my butt and no spaghettio's in my hair. No holey, stained t shirt and NO PONYTAIL!!!

I'm dropping the little man off at Nana's work where he will then venture off to the country to play with his cousins, eat spaghetti (because Friday nights at Nana and Pawpaw's is ALWAYS spaghetti night), and catch lightning bugs. They can feed him sugar until the cows come home, hang him by his toenails, pour Dr. Pepper down his throat...cause What Happens At Nana's, Stays At Nana's (ummmm.....Pawpaw, you know I'm kidding, right????!) HE CAN"T REALLY HAVE SODA...OR PEANUT BUTTER...OR HONEY, NO HONEY!!!!!! I'm just saying, do what you want, because he's yours! All. Weekend. Long.

There will be no Mama with suspicious eyes lurking in the corner.....no germaphobic mom hiding out with antibacterial wipes and booger suckers. He's. All. Yours.

There. I feel good. I feel pumped up. Let's do this.

But, okay...seriously....can you make sure when he goes "night night" that he has his music and fan on, and sassies....plenty of sassies! Also, make sure you say his prayers for him and let him know how much he's loved and kiss him all over his face and hug him REALLY tight and then kiss him some more and tell him Mommy and Daddy love him SO much and that he's our WHOLE world. He likes for you to say, "bye bye" and wave when you put him down....that way he knows it's just for a little while, not forever. And at bath time, he likes the water really warm...not hot, but not luke warm, like for babies. He likes to stay in till he has wrinkles on his feet and he likes to fill up his cup with water and then dump it out...on his face. That's your cue to laugh, and then he laughs....hysterically.
He's walking now. Really walking! So you have to watch him all the time. He's. Everywhere. Fast. You'll see this little elf dude walking in your peripheral vision. Don't be fooled! It's him, looking for some toxins and honey. Mango's and oranges give him diaper rash, so stay clear. If he goes swimming, he needs his sunblock on.... in his hair, too so his scalp doesn't burn. He can eat whatever you eat, but make sure it's not spicy and cut it up for him. He would rather you feed him off a fork than a spoon....cause hey, let's face it, forks are soooo much cooler.
Make sure the kids don't cough on him or kiss him on the lips....those lips are for Mommy only! If he starts whining with this nasal-y whine....he just wants you to hold him, so he can see what you're doing....he can't see a whole lot from down there and he feels like he's missing out. Oh, and a sassy always works.

So....there. I feel better. Tonight's gonna be fun......right?
