If You Give A Boy A Sucker.......

he will do just about anything......including posing for pictures at the pumpkin patch.

I noticed the first go round that I didn't have a whole lot of pictures of Grayson's face. He was either looking up, down, or all around.

Buy him a black and white, raspberry flavored, giant lollipop....problem solved.

Yes, I admit, I am that mom. The one who bribes her child with yummy treats. The one who also gets the cute pictures.

Even if there is black sticky smeared all over his face.

Day # 2 at the pumpkin patch was just as fun.....if not more.

We were pros at feeding the animals,

waiting patiently for the hayride......(wait, where's Grayson?),

riding the hayride,

and picking out pumpkins.

Grayson was so excited to see his little friends. It seemed like it had been months since the last time they played together.

Here he is waving goodbye when it was time to go.

He kept saying, "Bye bye fee ends".

Don't worry, baby. Mommy is taking you to another pumpkin patch tomorrow. Shhhh.....she's a little addicted.

"Is it Really Necessary.........

to go to two pumpkin patches, three days in a row?"

Well how else am I going to get "the perfect picture"....like this one?

On Sunday afternoon, my mom, neice, nephew, Kevin, Grayson, and I all ventured out to the Big Orange Pumpkin Patch. This is an ongoing tradition with Grayson and I and has been since his very first Fall.
Remember this little treat from Fall 2007?

As soon as the temperature ducks below 80, we are itching for hayrides and pumpkin pickin'. Well, at least I am. He's just along for the ride.

For the last two years, I have desperatley wanted my husband to join in on the pumpkin pickin' process and other Fall shananigans.

This year, he did.

With a smile on his face.

We spread a quilt out on the ground and unpacked our picnic lunch. It was a beautiful Fall day.
Here's Nana with her little pumpkin's.

Grayson spent the afternoon running around chasing his cousins, jumping in bounce houses,

and kicking pumpkins. Yes. I said kicking pumpkins. Not picking.

After sliding down slides,

feeding the cows,

and kicking every last pumpkin in the patch........Grayson finally found the one. The perfect pumpkin.

He even convinced me to ride in the green barrel-of-fun with a very forced smile on my face.

But it was worth it. It was all so very worth every muddy, uncomfortable 13 minutes.

So to answer your question, my dear, sweet husband......

Yes, it is necessary. We are going to look back in a few years and wonder where it all went. The days where all he needed was a ring pop to make him happy.

The picture of the three of us sitting on a hay bale at a pumpkin patch......

it is all so very necessary. It is also necessary to put out my Fall decor the last week of August. Just as it is necessary to put up my Christmas Tree the 3rd weekend of November. You married it. Deal with it.

I love you. Happy Fall.

Stay tuned.....there are two more days of pumpkin patch pics to sort through.
