Blue Skies and "Tunder Couds"

It was a sticky afternoon and we had every good reason to stay inside, but the green grass was calling.

We answered by grabbing our old quilt from the closet and plopping down little bodies on top and just staring into the brilliant, blue sky.

Five minutes into it, I forgot all about the laundry in the wash that would need re-washing and laundry in the dryer that would need de-wrinkling because every time I turned my head to the side,

there were two little sweaty grins and the quiet reassurance that this is what they needed...and so did I.

Moments later, a huge gust of wind blew in and thunder rumbled in the distance.

We rolled up the quilt and ran towards the umbrella of the porch just as the first plip plops of rain started to fall.

Oh how I love afternoon thunderstorms and nuzzling up with my littles....

She's Growin!

Oh Rylee Bug,

I knew it would happen. I knew you would turn a month old in the blink of an eye....and you did!

You are such a sassy little thing and this picture proves it!!

At just a little over four weeks, you have changed SO much already!!

Photo Sharing - Video Sharing - Photo Printing

You are 9lbs 4 oz of perfection!

You are still wearing newborn clothes and newborn diapers, but I think that will only last another week or so.

You love tummy time and your swing.

You are slightly jaundice but nothing to worry about and you still have a leaky tearduct. Mommy and Daddy call you "Popeye" because you usually have your left eye squeezed shut.

Dr. Terry says she will look at it again at your 2 month visit and we may possibly have to have it probed.....sounds painful but she assures me it isn't.

You have started to coo and smile (and no, it's not because your gassy)...it's a real, genuine smile!! You usually do it when you here me say your name and after you have a tummy full of milk.

You love being outside and you are so alert.....always listening, taking everything in.

You are nursing so well and sleeping like a champ!

We had a little set back when you got thrush, but are now back on track. We don't really have a set schedule just yet....just kinda going with the flow during the day. When you say you're hungry, Mommy provides! At night, we usually take a warm bath together (this is Mommy's favorite part of the day and yours too), then I lay you in your crib and give you a massage before putting on your jammies. After that, you nurse for about 20 minutes and I put you in your cradle, lights out. You are usually down by 9:30 and sleep til 2:30.

You are a tummy sleeper and you do not like to be swaddled like your brother did.

I always put you down on your side and you roll to your tummy and are out like a light!

After a quick filler-up, you are back asleep til 6:30. Mommy usually keeps you in bed until Grayson joins us around 8:30.

So, you are sleeping in Mommy and Daddy's room for now, but I think we may move you to your own room in the next few weeks.....maybe.

Rylee, your eyes are the most brilliant, midnight blue that Mommy has ever seen....I so hope that they don't turn.

Mommy and Daddy and Grayson are so happy that you are finally here and can't imagine how we ever made it without you.

You have completed this family and made it perfect and for that we love you so very much, Angel!
