Well Bubba, as of 10:59 p.m. tonight, you have entered the coveted world of double digits. Happy 10 months to you, little man!

What a whirlwind this past month has been. You are nonstop "boy" ALL THE TIME!!! Even when you're taking a nap, I can see you practicing your "bye-bye" wave. Don't you realize that you need to sleep so that your little body can catch up with your ever expanding mind?

I know, I know....too much to pull and push, climb and see. You are turning into a little monkey boy....climbing on everything!

This past month, you have:
~mastered the art of drinking from a sippy cup
~moved from baby food to "big boy" food....you won't let me feed you with a spoon anymore, so everything you eat has to be finger food.
~this means no more prunes ( I seriously thought you would be the only 6 yr old in kindergarten begging for prunes in your lunch box);)
~YOU LOVE BLUEBERRIES!!!

~You like to eat chicken nuggets, toast with jelly, blueberry pancakes, pasta, all veggies (good boy), all fruit, egg yolks scrambled, goldfish and cheerios. You're a very good little eater AND sleeper!
~Most nights, you sleep 10 1/2 - 12 hours

~You can say "mama", "dada", "paw paw", "bye bye","bah bah", and "ah ohhh".
You're saying "ah ohhhh", here

~You can wave "bye bye" and say it at the same time.
~You LOVE pat-a-cake, peek-a-boo, and itsy bitsy spider
~You can push your buddin buddin's (cars) around and make the noises...too cute!
~You have 4 teeth and those top two are giving you hell!!
~You are SO brave...you will pull up on something, let go, take 2-3 steps, then fall!
~You went swimming for the first time and LOVED it!

You weren't too happy about "Mommy papparazi" today...you had a watery eye and a snot nose...you gave me your best and I appreciate it. This is one of my favorites from today!

After about 10 minutes, you had had enough! You told me to "kiss it" and I thought of something better. Way better.

Darlin', there are no words to describe the overpowering love that your mommy and daddy feel for you! You have changed our lives in the most amazing way! I truly think that we love each other more than ever because of you. You do that, little man! You change people. Thank you!

Let's Try This Again

We needed a break. Me from you and you from me. Sometimes you just have those days. This is ours.

I love you, but you are both driving me crazy. You love me, but I'm making both of you nuts. You are tired. I am frustrated. You are impatient. I am impatient. Let's take a break.

Ahhh, nap time. Quiet. At least for a little while.

We can all rest. You can gain some much needed sleep. I can recharge. We'll regroup and see if we can't make the rest of the day better than its start.

I promise, more patience and understanding. Can you throw in less demands and fewer squabbles amongst yourselves? Now, let's start anew.

Pump It Up

Yesterday, Grayson and his girlfriends, went to Pump It Up Jr. What is this Pump It Up, you ask? Um...only the most awesome place for little kids EVER!! It's a huge jump house, but for tykes 3 and under. It also has an obstacle course that mommy and baby can crawl through together....SO FUN!! It was definately a work out for us both. There are all kinds of blown up chutes and ladders to crawl up and slide down.
The kids had so much fun!

Hey Mom.....you coming?

Walker, Secret Ranger

Yesterday I caught Grayson walking.......privately. I was in the other room and when I caught him halfway between his toybox and his crib I screamed, fell to my knees with hands on my cheeks, just as he quickly fell on his knees and crawled on with sneaky eyes, "nothing to see here"!

We went to our friend, Grace's, for lunch and he was practicing SO hard! His face just lights up and he squeals with delight going back and forth from Mommy to Michelle and back again. This went on for a good 20 minutes....him taking two shakey steps, then falling.

This morning he did the same thing, except I pretended not to notice and make a big deal. Perhaps the pressure was too much so I faked indifference.

"Two steps? Whatever. That's nothing," I said and went back to doing the dishes.

Last week I caught him walking (three steps?) down the hall before he fell to his knees. I thought maybe I was hallucinating. I had sort of resigned myself to the fact I would never see my son on two feet, at least not until after his fourteenth birthday.

But I think he was walking. I think he can walk. I think he has been walking... in secret.

I have decided that Grayson is the smallest spy in town. He leads a double life and when I put him down to bed he secretly climbs out of his crib and walks around his room all night long. Much like the nutcracker and all of the holiday toys who come to life on Christmas Eve, Grayson waits until I'm fast asleep and then he parades around the house on two feet. March, 2,3,4!

Perhaps he even sneaks out the window to show off his skills to the squirrels. Maybe he even climbs the tree in the backyard in sneakers, because in Grayson's "secret life," he will actually wear SOMETHING beside his bare feet.

AND MAYBE, just MAYBE one day, he will let me in on his little secret. Maybe, someday soon, I'll catch him walking and instead of falling to the floor, he'll smile and walk straight into my arms.
