The Week In Review

No, we didn't fall off the face of the earth, our phones are still in working order (well, at least one of ours...sorry Kev), and we're not mad at you. It's just been one incredibly long, tornadically (pun intended) drawn out week...yes, that's a word...I googled it!

Let's start with Monday, not today, but last. I didn't go to Stroller Fit. Shame. On. Me. I did, however, take my son to the park and introduced him to the ducks. How freakin' fun!! He absolutely LOVED the ducks and thought it was so funny how Mommy (that's me) would drop little pieces of hamburger buns and they would just come a runnin'. He was so tickled you could hear the giggles coming straight from his belly.

Here's the view from our porch...where the ducks live

Run Mommy, run!!

Then, we were off to the park! There were no swings...so we decided to slide.
You sure about this, Mom?

What a fanfreakintastic day that was! Definitely one Mommy will remember!

Then Tuesday rolled around.....dun dun ta dun!

A tear AND a bloody nose....and that's all I have to say about Tuesday

By Wednesday, we were back to our normal, silly self...no stitches were needed!

We even made a new friend in the mirror!

Thursday we got a tooth! Let me repeat!! THURSDAY WE GOT OUR VERY FIRST TOOTH!!!!!
Now, I have no pictures to prove this tooth I speak of....but it was pretty fantastic! I was feeding Grayson his lunch, when all of a sudden, a little "white" caught my eye. At first I shrugged it off...but then it hit me! "Grayson's got a toofy. Grayson's got a toofy" I couldn't stop singing this dumb little ditty....it was definatley a PMM (proud mommy moment).

Look, I really, really tried to get a pic of the little "milk tooth" (isn't that cute?? that's what they call the two first teeth) but everytime I would try and pull his bottom lip down, he would press his lips tighter than a ducks butt (and that's waterproof!) So, just know it's there and someday I will get a picture!

So, in celebrating the first tooth, Kev and I took Grayson to Gloria's for some yummy guacamole and refried beans....Mmm Mmm!

Then Friday rolled around at 5:45a.m. bright and early! It was garage sale day and our first customer arrived at 7a.m.! Come on people...if the sign says 7:30...for the love of Pete, DON'T show up at 7a.m. wanting to know if we have any shoes for sale! Sheesh!! You damn near scared the pee out of Michelle, standing on her front porch.

So Friday it rained. We pulled everything in. It stopped. We pulled everything out. It started to rain again. This went on ALL day long! We finally wrapped it up around 1p.m. and Grayson and I headed home for a much needed nap. We snuggled up on the couch and slept for 2 1/2 hours!

Saturday was garage sale day # 2....we felt like pros by 7:30. We had everything set up and ready to wheel and deal by 8a.m. The whole neighborhood was having a garge sale so it was pretty busy all day. We got rid of all the good stuff by 12 and put a sign that said "take me" on the rest. By 1pm it had all been taken!

That night the hubs and I had a couple shower to go to so we dropped the kiddo off at our BFF's who I must say is a "real trooper" for watching our son plus her daughter after a very long garage sale weekend...thanks girl!

We had so much fun!

And even smooched a little, too!

Sunday we relaxed ALL DAY LONG! I got up around 9 and started the laundry and vaccuming...just cleaning up a bit. Then I layed down on the couch for awhile. It was so nice and quiet....peaceful. And then I realized why it had been so quiet......

Sorry babe! Apparently your cell phone was in need of a good bath.

And then today.....tornadoes! Grayson and I joined some friends from work at the Frisco park for some kickball, wheel barrel racing, and egg tossing. We were having SO much fun...he was just taking it all in, so much to see! He even touched his toes to the grass and didn't cry!

Here's me and my egg toss buddy, Darrell...we made it to round 5!

About four minutes later, the Frisco tornado alarm started going off! It started raining harder and harder so Gray and I got in the car and headed home. As soon as we got on the tollway, it started hailing! I called Kevin at work and he sounded VERY worried when I told him where we were. He said to make sure I was heading South because there was a tornado spotted a couple of miles behind us ON THE TOLLWAY!!

I started crying and praying to God to get me and my little man home safely...and to also make me brave for him. I hadn't been that scared in a very long time! The rain was coming down sideways and I couldn't see much but I COULD see a wall cloud to my right. Oh shitballs! I hesitated for a second and almost pulled into the 7eleven for cover but something told me to keep driving. Driving down the tollway, I could still hear the sirens going off and as I pulled into my driveway I thanked God for getting us home safe. I litrally put the car in park and started praising His name. I was still crying as I opened the door to get Grayson out and wouldn't you know it...he was sound asleep!

Now I ask you.....how can a little boy stay asleep through rain, sirens, tornados, hail, and the sound of his Mommy crying and praying to God for his safety, but wake up everytime I latch the rail on his crib?????

Unbelievable!
