How Did You Spend Your Fourth???

Your gonna want to turn your speakers up for this one! (Don't forget to pause the pink music box to your right.)

Grayson, you never cease to amaze, son! I'm not quite sure where you got your moves from.....perhaps your Nana?
Nevertheless, we had a blast!

We spent our July 3rd at the town square and it was nothing short of fabulous.....except for the fact that Daddy missed out.
It was Mommy, Mimi, Pappi and Grayson...what a foursome we were!
We ate dinner outside at Rockfish, in the 112 degree heat.

Not to worry, son....Mommy had an ice-cold Shiner and Mimi and Pappi shared a goblet-o-margarita...we were sweatin' for sure, but having a good time, eating our fish tacos and enjoying the passer-bys.

After dinner, we strolled around the square, taking in all the sights. And there were some sights to be seen!! You found a blue car that was just your size!

These people take July 4th decorations to a whole nother level!

There were flags and lawn chairs everywhere! Some bedecked their space with buffet tables of snacks. Some looked as though they had raided Wal-Mart's July Fourth Isle and some had roped off their space with (I'm not even kidding) red velvet rope! These were some serious firecracker on-lookers and you just traisped up, down, and around all their belongings.

You decided quickly that you needed some "Iceeee" (ice cream)......and you and I were off on a scavenger hunt to find the coldest available.
Finally, after about a mile of walking, we came upon a Dippin' Dots booth....Halleluah!
We bought a small cup of red, white, and blue dots and 4 bottles of water. I had no idea how in the world I was gonna get back to our "camp site" with said bottles of water, red-white-and-blue Dippin' Dots, AND a 23 month old little boy who refuses to hold hands for longer than 3 seconds.
But I came up with a plan! After almost bursting into tears when they told me they didn't have a sack to carry all my purchases.....I had a brilliant idea!
I asked the lady for an empty "sample cup" (it was the size of one of those cups you drink grape juice out of at church). I scooped some Dots into your sample cup and told you when they were all gone I would give you more but that you had to follow me in order to receive more. You obeyed and we were on our way. It was a very long and sticky walk back, but you stayed right by my side the whole time. All the while, I'm carrying four bottles of water, a wallet, a Dippin' Dots cup and holding your hand....not too shabby! I seriously think people steered clear of us because they

a. felt sad for me.
b. didn't want melted purple icecream on their Fourth of July outfits.

Because that's what you get when you mix red, white, and blue icecream. Purple.

I know this now.

I also know that 112 degree heat + purple icecream = this!

You had a few applauses for this little diddy.....I was beyond proud!
The fireworks started and you were in awe.....for about 5 seconds.

You just assumed killing evil ants with your light sabor was way more fun!
